AYODHYA RAM MANDIR:Real Gold Worth Rs 50 Crore Used; Public Access To Ram Darbar Restricted.
The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a monumental symbol of India's religious heritage has recently incorporated 45 kilograms of pure gold, valued at approximately ₹50 crore, into its construction. This embellishment primarily adorns the temple's ground floor doors and the throne of Lord Ram. The information was confirmed by Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, following the consecration of the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor.
The Ram Darbar, situated on the first floor of the temple, comprises five halls—Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. Each intricately designed in the Nagara architectural style. These halls are adorned with statues of deities and are part of a larger complex that includes temples dedicated to Surya, Bhagwati, Ganesha, and Shiva at the corners, with Annapurna and Hanuman temples on the northern and southern arms, respectively.
The incorporation of gold into the temple's structure is part of a broader effort to enhance its grandeur. Previously, the idol of Ram Lalla, depicting Lord Ram as a five-year-old child, was adorned with at least 15 kg of gold, along with 18,000 emeralds and diamonds, reflecting the deity's divine status.
The Ram Mandir project has seen significant investment, with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust spending ₹2,150 crore over the past five years. This includes ₹396 crore paid to various government agencies, with ₹272 crore allocated as Goods and Services Tax (GST). Additionally, the Trust has received 944 kg of silver from devotees, which has been minted into 20 kg silver bricks and stored in bank lockers.
As the temple nears completion, with 96% of construction work finished, the Ram Mandir is poised to become a significant center for religious tourism. The Uttar Pradesh government has invested billions in infrastructure projects to accommodate the expected influx of visitors, including the development of a new airport and railway station in Ayodhya. These efforts are anticipated to boost the local economy and enhance the spiritual experience for Devotees.
In conclusion, the integration of 45 kg of pure gold into the Ram Mandir's construction underscores the temple's significance as a spiritual and cultural landmark. While access to the Ram Darbar remains restricted, plans are underway to open it to the public in phases, ensuring that the temple's sanctity and the safety of visitors are maintained.
